Goodreads Synopsis:
Aurelie Chantelune was born to serve. Raised as a knight in a kingdom ravaged by demons, she’s spent her life honing her blade, driven by the memory of the monsters who tore her family apart and by the knowledge that she’s one of the few who can stop them.

If Aurelie can claim her first kill, she’ll inherit a legacy passed down through the Chantelune a soulbond with Yuriel, an angel whose power is vital to her kingdom’s survival. But when those she loves begin turning into the very monsters she’s sworn to destroy, Aurelie is forced to seek help from the last place she ever imagined. Desperate, she forges a second and far more dangerous bond with Severin, a demon she can hardly trust, but who claims to know how to end the war for good.

With their lives and fates entwined, Aurelie, Yuriel, and Severin must team up to hunt down a cure capable of turning demons back into humans. But the more they learn about one another and the deeper their relationships grow, the more Aurelie begins to question the war and her place in it. With both of her bonded on opposing sides, she’ll have to make a continue to stand with the angels, or risk everything by trusting a demon.
Review:

THAT ENDING! The last few chapters flew by!

Aurelie is a knight/soldier who has waited to be bonded to an angel, she is now bonded only to find that in order to save someone that she loves she also has to bond to a demon. The push and pull of Yuriel, her angel soldier companion, and Severin, her bonded demon, was great to read. They are snarky and sarcastic... and want to kill each other but cannot because of the bond, so it is all very entertaining. reading all three POVs made this all even better as the reader can experience all of their torment, fear, arousal, and panic. Their emotions and feelings all being tired together as well give this such a layer of chaos in and of itself.

I really appreciated the worldbuilding in this one, though I definitely wanted more of it. The magic system was fascinating, and I thought the politics between the angels and demons were handled in a really interesting way. I especially loved the use of elements from traditional angelic descriptions, eyes and multiple wings.  The romance was well done, but I particularly appreciated that the story interwove the romance and the fantasy plots really well. It didn't feel too heavy on either side.

Aurelie was an engaging enough protagonist, and I liked seeing her grow and question everything she thought she knew. Overall, the combination of an intriguing magic system, complex alliances, and the tension between angels and demons made this a really enjoyable read... and the ending has left me wanting more. I will certainly be grabbing the next on in this series.
