Goodreads Synopsis:
"Talk about your meals on wheels!" A convoy of comic food trucks is heading your way, serving up a mouthful of good eats with a side of humor and verse. They've got everything from french fries to falafel. You can sample sushi. Build a burger. Eat an empanada! There's a food truck flavor to satisfy every appetite in this comically illustrated picture book with rhyming text. A fun and informative homage to tasty treats and transportation. Additional fun facts on food history and nutrition are also peppered throughout the book.
This was a really fun book. It is jam-packed with colorful images and interesting facts about various types of food that it talks about. The illustrations of the food trucks are playful and bright and the book will teach kids about all kinds of different foods using witty poems that go along with the images.

I found this book to be really fun and it did teach me a lot of random food facts that I would then yell across the room to my husband... so this book will be great for all ages and I think parents will enjoy it just as much as kids will.

Small Blue and the Deep Dark Night by Jon Davis

Format: Hardback ARC
HMH for Young Readers for Review. Receiving this book in no way effects my opinion or review of the book.

Goodreads Synopsis:
When Small Blue wakes up in the middle of the night, she thinks of hungry things . . . and warty things . . . and hairy things! But are they really as scary as they seem? With the help and comfort of Big Brown, Small Blue slowly begins to imagine fun things in the dark instead of scary ones. Jon Davis's whimsical text and illustrations featuring a sweet father-daughter duo ensure that neither the night nor the unknown will be scary again.

Small Blue and the Deep Dark Night is a very cute tale about spinning the spooky into fun and the what-ifs that lurk in the dark. Big Brown (a bear) takes care of Small Blue (a bunny) and helps him to realize that those ghastly things he is imagining are playful creatures that just want to say hello.

I think this book is very cute and would be great for young ones that are afraid of being in the dark. It is a good representation of thinking positive as well. Small Blue is adorable and comes to accept that the deep dark night isn't a very scary place after all.

The illustrations are beautiful and engaging with bright colors and cute characters in playful situations. Even the dark pages are interesting and fun. I think this would be a wonderful bedtime story.
