Review:
Sadist is a spicy, dark queer romance full of wit and dark humor. When Theo, a disgraced contract killer, takes Octavia hostage to get to her tech-mogul father, things get complicated pretty quickly.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the dual POV. Getting both Theo and Octavia’s thoughts and emotions made their relationship development that much more engaging. I found them both to be intersting characters, and their backstories added some interesting layers to the story. The plot was fun, too, and the darker premise created plenty of opportunities for humor in some unexpected places.
Be warned, this book is spicy, with plenty of on-page scenes, but I thought the plot did a good job of keeping things moving forward in between. There were enough little developments and reveals to keep me invested in what would happen next.
A quick content warning: This book tackles some pretty dark subject matter and comes with a lengthy list of trigger warnings, so definitely check those before diving in.
Overall, this was an entertaining, spicy read with engaging characters, a compelling relationship build, and just the right touch of dark humor to balance out the darker elements. If Sapphic dark romance is your thing, this one is worth checking out.
