Goodreads Synopsis:
Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who's ever been chosen.

That's what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he's probably right.

Half the time, Simon can't even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor's avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there's a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon's face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here--it's their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon's infuriating nemesis didn't even bother to show up.

Carry On is a ghost story, a love story and a mystery. It has just as much kissing and talking as you'd expect from a Rainbow Rowell story - but far, far more monsters.

Review:
First off, Audiobooks are amazing (and so not cheating). I was super excited to be listening to this one while I was working, in the car, while doing dishes and cleaning my house, and while I was building a puzzle :)... AND this is a wonderful way to read this particular book.

For those of your who don't know, Rainbow Rowell wrote a book called Fangirl. In that book Cath, the main character, writes fan-fiction... in their world it is the Simon Snow series much like in the real world many people write Harry Potter fan-fic. So essentially this book is part of that world that Rowell created for her character finally given to her readers. Carry On is kind of a spin off of Harry Potter but in a very inception kind of way. So for anyone upset that they read something so blatantly HP... there is a bit of a back story - read Fangirl first if you can.

Now that I am done with many a disclaimer.... I LOVED this book. I knew going into it what to expect as far are some of the main characters and the love interests and I think that the reader of the audiobook did a spectacular job reading all the characters. It is told from MANY points of view and to have them read to you in different voices made it easy to follow. I also adored the love story... I was waiting for it... I was super excited about it. I know other things happened in the plot, that were very cool and twisted, but the love story is what I came for and what I wanted.

I think that this was a very fun read, it was a delight to be back in this world even if it was without Cath as a buffer. I think that readers of Rainbow Rowell will enjoy it. There is a good amount of cursing and violence though, so if you or a younger reader isn't into that - steer clear.
