About the Book
It's bad enough being the most unpopular girl in school, but when a strange new exchange student shows up, Samantha Abraham discovers she may be in love with a golem.

It was love at first sight for Sam when Joshua, the dark and mysterious foreign student from Eastern Europe, walked in to class. He’s dreamy, great at hockey, and she’s landed the chance to be his tutor. But the more time she spends with him, the more he seems to harbour a sinister secret. It’s starting to look like he’s a criminal, but he might also be a monster...

With the help of her over-zealous, secretly- crushing BFF Duckie, and with the popular girl bullies nipping at her heels, Sam must go up against a bunch of weird science, and a hellish high school social life, before she has a remote chance of a first kiss... or of surviving the Halloween dance.

Samantha Abraham has the power to magically control her boyfriend's every action, but now someone wants that power--and wants him dead.

After the fallout from Heart of Stone, Sam has learned the truth: that her boyfriend, Joshua, was created in a lab by a mysterious scientist known only as The Professor. A magical ruby gives her the power to control him by thought. It seems like the perfect relationship, until a gauntlet of assassins show up in River City with murder on their minds.

On a quest for the truth that takes her to Toronto and into the
den of her enemies, can Sam, Duckie, and hockey-hunk Rick save Joshua’s life before it all goes to hell?

About the Book
Samantha Abraham lost everything when she lost Joshua--but the fight for the ruby, and what it means, isn't over yet.

Sam is back in River City and the events of Heart of Clay have left her raw. If deranged necromancers were bad, you’d think Debbie and her slugs would be small potatoes, but Sam’s life has gone straight back to hell in her senior year. even with her high level hapkido skills, and a budding relationship with hockey hunk Rick Hansen, nothing seems to fill the gaping hole that Joshua and Duckie’s disappearances have left...

But just as suddenly as he vanished, Joshua reappears with grave tidings, and sam must decide what lengths she’ll go to prevent her life--and her boyfriend’s body--from falling apart.

Goodreads Synopsis:
Nick the Knight can't wait to fight Breakhorn the Dragon, but Breakhorn just doesn't feel like it. He keeps making up excuses to put off the fight but brave little Nick won't give up. An inspiring picture book about big dreams and an unexpected friendship.
Review:
I really love dragons and books about dragons and this cover was so eye catching that I wanted to give it a read. Nick the Knight has always wanted to fight a dragon, so he gets ready and heads out only to realize that the dragon won't fight him. The tale take a wonderful turn at the end and it is moving and sweet.

The story is a lot of fun but the pictures are even more excellent. They are intricate and have so much going on, you can spend a good amount of time just looking at all the goodies in them. The colors are gorgeous and I love all the details. This book is absolutely charming in all the best ways.

Thanks to an abusive mother and an absent father, Anna Blackhurst has only known the love of two people: her Gram and her best friend, Niki.

When Anna meets Cooper Reed in a smoky club, she’s immediately drawn to his good looks but isn’t prepared to open herself up to a relationship. As time passes, Anna finds herself falling in love with Cooper and she begins to rethink her future. Maybe, despite her childhood, she can have a happy-ever-after. But when her mother is in a terrible accident, she again sinks her claws into Anna and Anna’s world is thrown upside down. Despite Cooper’s unwavering support, Anna walks away only to regret it immediately. In order to heal, not only herself, but her broken relationship, Anna must stand up for herself and accept that the only way she's going to be happy is if she grabs ahold of it herself.

About the Author
Heather McCoubrey is a native of Maine, but having moved all over the U.S. as a child, she doesn’t sound like one. She’s been writing since middle school when a teacher taught her she could create her own stories instead of just reading them. That year she had some of her first poems published in the school magazine and from there she graduated to writing a full-length novel in high school.

Heather is the self-published author of To Love Twice, Back to December, and Emily's Choice. She also contributed a short story for A Kind of Mad Courage: Short Stories about Mothers (S)mothers and Others anthology. All proceeds go to the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation for AI disorders.

Heather resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, three children, T. Rex the chihuahua, and Psycho Killer the outside cat. When she’s not being super-mom and wife, she ekes out time to write, watch football and MMA, practice her British accent, and dream of living on an island where it’s seventy-five degrees year-round.
