Hello All! Welcome to another year of Armchair BEA, I am happy to say that I will be attending BEA and am looking forward to sharing all my experiences but I also wanted to participate in Armchair again because it is sooooooo good!
Please tell us a little bit
about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get
into blogging?
Hi! I
am Stephanie; I have been blogging for a little over a year at Cover2CoverBlog
and recently starting posting at The Nerd Cave too. I started blogging because
I read…a lot… and my husband said I needed a hobby, so blogging about the books
I read became my hobby and outlet. I love it… although Andy is not as thrilled
about his suggestion since my house is now overflowing with books.
Where in the world are you blogging from?
Tell a random fact or something special about your current location. Feel free
to share pictures.
I blog from McLean, Virginia in
the United States, and am about 30 minutes away from Washington DC or as most
know it…where the President lives.
Have you previously
participated in Armchair BEA? What brought you back for another year? If you
have not previously participated, what drew you to the event?
Last
year, I was still new to blogging, so BEA was not an option but I was super
jealous of those who did go. I participated in Armchair BEA and LOVED it, I had
not felt tied to the blogging community so much as I did with Armchair BEA and
I am excited to join again.
Tell us one
non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about
you.
Hm…
that is a difficult one. I have a lot of jobs… I blog obviously, but I also
work at George Mason University in Virginia as a Program Manager for the School
of Education, I also teach at the Northern Virginia Community College, and on
occasion I help in my step-mothers office with filing and scanning…because she
hates that stuff and it is cash in my pocket J
I love to keep busy so it I am not over scheduled I am bored and want to nap.
What is your favorite part
about the book blogging community?
I love
that while many of us have never met and rarely interact with one another, we
are all such a close-knit community. Book bloggers are awesome and I can Tweet
at people and they reply even if they don’t know me, and I can comment on posts
and visit blogs to see into other reader’s lives, I really like that (not in a
creepy way!)

I'm glad you enjoyed ABEA last year. Your employment schedule sounds about as hectic as mine was during college! What kind of lizard is that? A bearded dragon? I look forward to hearing more from you as the week continues. Tattooed Books
ReplyDeleteYea I have so many jobs, but I love them! The Beardies are awesome, they are cute and a little creepy at the same time and we have 2 :)
DeleteLove your photos, especially your lizard hat. Welcome to Armchair BEA!
ReplyDeleteAH@Badass Book Reviews
Thanks! She likes it up there. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteIt's so crazy how close the book blogging community is and we've never met each other. What do you do for the School of Education? I got my BA in El Ed so I love meeting other teachers. I decided not to become a teacher after all, but I still love teaching.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I work with the Literacy department, I talk to people about how to become Reading Specialists after they complete an initial licensure :)Teaching is amazing, I teach college but it is so fun!
DeleteNice to meet you! I work at a university too. I'm glad the blogging community is so supportive!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteThe blogging community can be very supportive, but a few bad apples can make one run for the hills. I'm a newbie to Armchair BEA and so far have heard great things about people who have participated in the past.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week participating in Armchair BEA. :)
yea, the community is great but it is line a wave when something/ someone bad happens to it/in it.Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteMy house has never been filled with as many books as it is now until I started blogging with my cousin about a year ago. I'm just about out of space for shelves in the room where they are now, so I think the overflow is going to have to spill into the living room. You can never have enough books, lol. Great meeting you, and thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteright! my husband thinks i am crazy, but i love books! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWow! A multitasker! Have fun at BEA and be sure to post about your experiences to share with all of us in the Armchair!
ReplyDeleteWill do! I am working on it to go up soon! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteNice to meet you! My hubby is the same, he has his rants about all the books!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the blogger community. There are so many helpful, friendly people that welcomed me as a newbie! :)
Hope you have as much fun this year as you did last year with ABEA!
Thank you! and thanks for stopping by!
