Goodreads Synopsis:
Thankful, by bestselling and award-winning children s author Eileen Spinelli, combines charming rhymes and whimsical illustrations to convey the importance of being thankful for everyday blessings. Like the gardener thankful for every green sprout, and the fireman, for putting the fire out, readers are encouraged to be thankful for the many blessings they find in their lives. Spinelli exhibits her endearing storytelling with this engaging poem, reminding children how blessed and special they are. Meant to be read aloud, this heartwarming picture book will be a treasured keepsake for parents and children alike."
Review:
Thankful is beautifully drawn, rhyming book about how we should be thankful for all the little things. The bright images and easy reading make for a wonderful book for young readers and parents alike.
Eileen Spinelli strings together a creative sequence of things everyone should be thankful for but in relation to various people and professions. And while you might think that the book is being released for Thanksgiving it is really just a fun book that happens to have fall colors on the front of it.
The illustration is both detailed yet simple and the colors are vibrant. The pictures depict kids and parents playing and participating in various activities and I think all readers will find it enjoyable and think about all the things they are thankful for.
