About the Book
Every
thousand years the Vampire Queen selects a new body, always the fairest
in the land, and this time she's chosen Snow White.
Snow isn't an ordinary girl. She doesn't know that yet.
When Snow gets bitten by a Hunter, her life is thrown into a whirlwind of change where instead of worrying about what to eat, she has to fight not to drink the blood of fellow high school students. She becomes a revenant - not quite human, not quite vampire.
With the help of an eccentric old Professor, his seven adoptive sons, and her best friend, Snow learns to control her blood craving. Sort of. She drinks a bloodlust tea, but she'd rather drink from her Hunter.
Or, a human.
She also discovers a whole other realm, one filled with fairies, dragons, and magic. And not only does the Vampire Queen want her, but there's a pendant called the Seal of Gabriel created for Snow by the Vampire Queen's twin sister. And Snow's supposed to use it to restore balance to all magical creatures. Including vampires.
My rating:
Background: Snow White is not the Snow White, yes she is beautiful and unique, but her parents were just quirky when they named her. Snow White has been chosen by the Vampire Queen to be a body for her ever changing form and Snow must find it within herself to resist her and even kill the Queen for the bettering of life for magical creatures.
Review: I waited until the last minute to start reading this book for review and was very surprise by how fast I flew through it. The compilation is a series of novelettes combined to make up the whole story, they are short and interesting, and all of them ended on a cliff hanger, bombshell, or sultry moment which made you only want more..so I kept reading.
I really liked this plot, Snow White as a fairy tale is interesting but Snow White the teenage vampire is exciting and suspenseful. I loved Snow she was a klutzy teen almost 16 in the beginning and then reaching 19 by the end of the series, she was real (except for the Vampire thing). She had issues and boy problems and a best friend who was her complete opposite but knew her better than everyone. I liked following her story.
The other characters were great too, there were 'the boys' seven teens adopted but her neighbor, all with there interesting personalities and love for Snow, their childhood friend. Cindy, is Snow's best friend, she is friendly to the point of almost annoying, but goodhearted. And lastly the Vampire Queen and Christopher, mysterious and seductive, and all vampire-y...it was a great mix.
I really enjoyed everything about this series/ set. The author did a wonderful job of keeping me entertained and excited to read more.
The only issue that I had was there was a lot of sexy moments, and Snow starts out as a 15 year old. I am not saying that 15 year-olds don't have sexy make out moments but there were A LOT and sometimes that got awkward. Overall though, so GOOD!
